Abstract

Integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) in
conventional power system has increased all over the world.
The mail aim of connecting DERs is to fulfill supply demand
gap at the same time they can be used for ancillary services
like reactive power support. Conventionally equipment’s like
Static Compensators (STATCOM) are being used for reactive
power compensation and power quality improvement. This
paper focuses upon integration of solar PV with STATCOM
for reactive power compensation. Control technique called
IcosΦ algorithm has been implemented.
