Work Culture Management for Valve Sourcing Offices – The Indian Valve Sourcing and Expediting Series

Paul Gregory F

Abstract

Work Culture Management is mandatory in every sourcing office as valve sourcing will require more of social management skills than office management skills. The work culture of any sourcing office is of core importance as it determines the effectiveness of the sourcing office. A country where a civil war occurs will be divided, one against the other, and ultimately, the country’s reputation and the economy will decline. Similarly, a valve sourcing office having a misunderstanding, backbiting, and lack of coordination among the employees, will strive hard to sail. Hence, as a Sourcing Manager, it is his/her responsibility to train his/her employee to practice the values of professional ethics. Valve sourcing and expediting will be more of contract establishments, negotiations and widening the regional resourcing. Hence sourcing managers must care to select candidates such that they have diplomatic negotiation skills and a satisfactory background character. Sourcing managers must also focus on the behavior of each sourcing engineer, sourcing expeditor and sourcing inspector inside the office, as a rude engineer would definitely pull down the reputation of the souring team. An undeserving candidate, when recruited into a valve sourcing office will turn the office into jeopardy and the situation will be similar to marauders pillaging a kingdom. This article focuses on various issues that are being faced by Valve sourcing offices and suggests measures to counter them. Guidelines have also been provided for the recruitment process for valve sourcing offices.
